Promoting british hardwood in construction
GreenBeams has been at the forefront of environmentally conscious construction since 2001. We provide the necessary links between suppliers of timber, such as foresters, sawmills, land owners and estates, and buyers and contractors looking for negative carbon structural beams and columns.
GreenBeams is run by timber engineers, in association with Structural & Civil Consultants. The consultants have won many awards for designs for new construction and modifications to existing historic structures.
In 2023 GreenBeams was involved with a ground-breaking sustainable design, sourcing local beech, sycamore and larch timber for a new estate office building at Swinton Castle. The superstructure used negative-carbon timber without steel, concrete brick or blockwork. The substructure used stone, hempcrete, Glapor and cob.
